Week 14 – Adieu, adieu, to yieu and yieu and yieu

Friday, October 8th, 2010

You have made it this far… One more long run and then its time for all this training to pay off!!!

And good luck to everyone running the BAA Half this Sunday!!!

There will be one water stop at Highland Ave, which I’ve got covered.

I’m planning on biking the Bay State course during the race on the 17th for some picture taking and some support. If you have anything you would like me to carry for you (Gu, Snacks, etc), please get it to me on Sunday or Tuesday.

See you Sunday morning!!

Week 13 – Cutting back on the miles!

Friday, October 1st, 2010

There will be one water stop for the 7.1 mile loop, and three for the 14.8.

WS1 – Main/Winter
WS2 – Lynn Fells/Melrose High
WS3 – Nicks Pizza

I could probably handle all three stops, but it would make life a little easier if someone could drop a car at either WS2 or 3!

Anyone interested?

See you on Sunday morning!!

Week 12 – Water stop help needed!

Friday, September 24th, 2010

There is a big group of Sunday Long Runners (including myself) that will be away for the weekend. Good luck to everyone running the Lake Winnie relay!!

So it looks like we are going to need some volunteers for water stops this Sunday.

PLEASE let me know if you are available to help! You can either hang out at the water stops or drop your car and try to arrange a drop-off/pickup before or after the run.

We will need at least 4 people…

WS1 (also WS2 for the half route) – Highland Ave

WS2 & 5 – Forest St

WS3 – Highland/Main St

WS4 – Mystic Valley Parkway

I can drop off all the supplies with someone before 7pm tonight, or you can drop by my place to pick up the supplies. I think my roommate will be around later tonight or tomorrow.

Also, if you purchase any water/Gatorade/cups, I’ll give you the money for that next week.

Week 11 – Swains + Breakheart

Friday, September 17th, 2010

This is definitely one of my favorite routes. It includes 4 towns and 6 border crossing’s. Please don’t forget your passport!
The full route runs through Melrose, Malden, Melrose, Saugus, Wakefield, Saugus and back to Melrose.

Also, this is the longest week for people training for a half marathon! 11.1 miles!
(And lucky you doesn’t have to run Breakheart this week!)

I can easily handle water stop 1 by Citizens Bank/Oak Grove and stop 3 by Breakheart.

If someone could stash their car at WS 2 between the high school and Ell pond, that would be perfect!
I can pick you up before the run, or if you’re looking for a great .75 mile warm-up, you could just park there and run over to Brueggers…

See you Sunday!!

P.S. – If your available on Sunday the 26th, it’s a loooong route, and I will not be around for water stops! Sorry! We will need 3-4 people to help.
Thanks!!

Week 10 – Slight change of schedule

Thursday, September 9th, 2010

It’s going to be a busy Sunday, so we are going to try and get a head start on everything!

Since the EMARC 5k starts at 10am, and some of the long runners would like to volunteer for the race and the Victorian Fair after the race, we will be starting the run at 7am.

Both routes overlap pretty well, so we will only be needing one water stop, which I’ve got covered.

If you have time after the run to help with the EMARC 5k, please contact Brian Slater.
Or just stop along the course near Pine Banks or Main St and cheer on the runners!

And if your free during the day for an hour or so, please check in with Erin Lynch about volunteering for the Victorian Fair booth.

See you Sunday!!
