Week 12 – The map is ready

I’ve posted the long run map. You’ll notice the full route is only 21.5 miles long. When plans get finalized we’ll look at possible moving the end of our run down to Cleveland Circle to get the full 22 in. If that doesn’t happen (parking logistics could be an issue) a loop around the Flynn Recreation Center on the BC Campus will get you 22 miles.

At this point I think we’ll have at least 9 runners doing most if not all the miles, 3 running a portion of the route, 2 fulltime waterstop drivers, and 4 young volunteers/spectators helping us along.

If you aren’t excited about running the course yet, here’s a few tidbits online to get you familiar with the history you’ll be running through:

Now if you’re feeling overwhelmed… it’s just seven 3 mile runs, sounds simple.

Good luck to all! Time is flying by.

It sounds like you are pretty well set, but if you need more help on Sunday, let me know and I can come with a minivan. But probably no running, or just a few miles.

I miss the long runs, but just don’t have the time to put in the miles lately. Maybe over the summer!

    Jim!
Count me in, where & when can I jump on the carpool?

  3. Walter Drag says:

Jim, ditto Nick… what time do you want us at Brueggers? cold start at 8am Hopkinton with temps low-mid 20s and a colder wind chill but a rapid warmup thru the 30s as we run. cross wind and less and less likely any head wind as direction of the wind will probably be backing to northwest. wd

  4. Jim says:

Oops, I put it on the map but forgot to put it here:

Meet before 7AM behind Brueggers. I would like to get on the road at 7 to ensure we’re in Hopkinton ready to run by 8.

Here is the plan so far:

    Drivers: Barry, Ginny, Sue/Joanne-ErinL
    MiniVans: Judi’s, Andy Pate’s, (Sue/Joanne’s or mine)
Extra support: Pam in second half of run.

    That should seat 21…

    1 AndyP (22)
    2 Ed (22)
    3 Erin (22)
4 ErinL (12-13) (run first half, drive second)
    5 Jim (20-22)
6 Joanne (9-10) (drive first half, run second)
    7 Judi (22)
    8 Lois (20-22)
    9 MikeY (18-20)
    10 Nancy (20-22)
    11 Nick (?)
12 SueC (10) (drive first half, run second)
    13 Tracy (22)
    14 Walt (22)
    ————
    15 Barry (driver)
    16 Ginny (driver)
    17 James (photographer)
    18 Kait (cheerer)
    19 Lizzie (cheerer)
    20 Gavin (cheerer)

One more seat left before we need another car/driver so if you aren’t on the list and should be please comment in the next 24 hours!
