Week 3 – Flat as a Pancake

I assume there was at least one runner last week that uttered some choice phrases about the hills we tackled on the run. This week we recover from that with as flat a route you’ll find in the Melrose area. We’ll head up Main St to Wakefield. Barry will have a water stop ready at Mile 3, in the parking lot of Nick’s Pizza (next to the Dunkin Donuts). While the half route runners turn around and head back, the full route runners will loop Lake Quannapowitt first, then run back Main St. Simple as that!

So who’s in? Roll Call!

    Definately flatter than a pancake.

If a 6″ pancake with only a 1mm rise in the center was stretched out over 10 miles, with the center rising equally as much as you stretch the pancake, it would have about a 350 foot hill in the middle.

The biggest hill today was only about 75 feet over a 2.5 mile stretch on main st.

Next week will be hillier than a muffin!

  33. Nick Lamberti says:

    Wow!

What a turnout today. Did anyone get a head count? It looked like 30+!

I will try my best to be there for the 1/2; in the middle of moving.
